Troubleshooting your Loogun
1) The motor is running but no water is spraying out
If you can hear the motor running but no water is coming out, your batteries are probably in the wrong way round. Inserting them backwards will cause the motor to run in reverse, so water won't be sprayed. Make sure that when they're in, your batteries look like the image below.
2) My Loogun is not powerful enough and is using a lot of water
While battery manufacturers don't make this obvious, almost all AA batteries are either made for use in low-drain or high-drain devices. Simply choosing a Duracell or Energizer battery is NOT going to work, you need to choose batteries made specifically for high-drain devices.
We've created a list of recommended batteries and a list of those you should avoid. Using a weak battery will simply mean your device will not operate at the required power level and you'll see reduced cleaning efficacy as well as using too much water.
We highly recommend you choose rechargeable batteries with an power output of at least 2,400 mAh. Be careful when buying your batteries as the same battery is often available in multiple power variants, so do check the mAh value carefully.
When it comes to batteries, Alkaline batteries continually drain their voltage, meaning that before long you'll experience reduced power from them. Rechargeable and Lithium batteries work differently, they maintain their full voltage output until such time as they have nothing left to give, this means that you get high output from them for much longer than you would from an Alkaline, making them a good choice for high-drain devices.
3) My Loogun is not spraying a single focused jet
In early production we found that the small seal on the reservoir was not creating a watertight seal against the Loogun in a small number of devices. If this happens, it can result in air in the system which causes a dispersed spray. It can also cause leaking as the seal is faulty. If you experience either of these, please email [email protected] and we'll get you a new seal pack right away.
4) My Loogun is leaking
In early production we found that the small seal on the reservoir was not creating a watertight seal against the Loogun in a small number of devices. If this happens, it can cause leaking as the seal is faulty. If you experience this, please email [email protected] and we'll get you a new seal pack right away.
5) My Loogun has stopped spraying properly and seems blocked
There can be a couple of reasons for this. Small bits of debris may have gotten into the reservoir when filling it, and they're now blocking the nozzle. If this is the case, try using a very thin pin to dislodge it.
You could also be experiencing limescale build up, especially if you live in an area with hard water. The easiest way to clear it is to run some distilled white vinegar through it. Simply fill your reservoir with the vinegar and run the entire reservoir through. You could also leave the vinegar in the tubing for 10 minutes and it'll be as good as new. It'll smell like vinegar so run some water through afterwards to clear it again.
If you think the nozzle is blocked, try using a thin pin gently in the nozzle to release the blockage without damaging the nozzle.
6) I still can't fix my problem
If you have any problems you can't solve, please email our support team at [email protected] and we'll provide assistance straight away. We want your Looguns working perfectly so please contact us and we'll get you back on track.
7) My friends still use a toilet brush, what should I do?
This is a difficult one. On one hand we recommend finding new friends, however, if they mean a lot to you, spend some time convincing them to replace those foul implements with Looguns. If all else fails and you can't bear to lose them, consider buying them a Loogun as a gift, nothing says I care quite like receiving a Loogun from a beautiful friend.
